My work deals with issues of humanity and sexuality, especially female strength and beauty, as well as the experience being bound, manipulated, and mutilated physically, spiritually, and emotionally. I have a deep faith in God and try to express my gratitude and spirituality in my work. I draw my inspiration from the world of painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture.

I love to throw on the wheel and develop forms. I also enjoy handbuilding large sculptures where I can manipulate the form and surface to produce a feeling or visual comment. I use the glazes and other traditional surface techniques in new ways to create bold and subtle color and to enhance the form.

I try to entice the viewer to experience the sensuality of the medium, to touch the surface, or hold the form. The tactile sense is important in my work, as well as the visual sense. I try to express issues of the human spirit in the context of our time to surprise the viewer and stimulate discussion about the content of the work. I also try to produce work that is whimsical and fun, a piece that sparks a smile.
